Hurricane 1938

The Historical society held its May 22,2014 meeting at 630 pm at the Hooksett library. the meeting began with an update of HHS activities. Heritage day held on May 18 was a success. 35 visitors came to the Prescott building. the old town hall was open, robies store and Head school. visitors to the town hall could view the old tin ceiling- funds from moose plate grant being applied for. a walking tour also occurred . the society with heritage commission will host town feud III , funds to go to OTH preservation. program in June to be on general and Gettysburg and Sept program on Manchester mills. the attendees, #30 were told of planned open houses and need for help to inventory and scan items. Shira Gladstone from historic New England gave a wonderful program on the Hurricane, its historic significance, its impact and damage to New England and New Hampshire. Dues were also collected from some members
